# ActiveCampaign tools in Cogny

Cogny's ActiveCampaign integration exposes 22 tools (13 read, 7 write, 2 destructive) to an AI agent over MCP. The same tools are available on every plan, from your own AI client or inside the Cogny app.

- **Read** (13): only reads data.
- **Write** (7): creates or changes something.
- **Destructive** (2): deletes, removes or replaces something.

Over MCP your own AI client asks before it runs a write. To take a tool away from your agent, block it in Settings → Integrations.

## Notes

ActiveCampaign connects with two values from ActiveCampaign → Settings → Developer: the API URL (it looks like `https://youraccount.api-us1.com`) and the API key. There are no scopes: the key has the permissions of the ActiveCampaign user it belongs to, so connect it as a user who can see the contacts, campaigns, automations and deals Cogny should work with.

Campaign stats come from ActiveCampaign's own counters: sent, opens, unique opens, link clicks, unique link clicks, forwards, hard and soft bounces, unsubscribes and replies. Rates are computed from them (open rate = unique opens / sent, click rate = unique link clicks / sent, click-to-open = unique clicks / unique opens).

Deal values are read and written in the deal's own currency; amounts in different currencies are never converted or added together.

ActiveCampaign allows 5 API requests per second per account. Lists return at most 100 items per call and page with `offset`.

Writes stay ask-first until you allow them in Settings. Adding a contact to an automation runs that automation for them, and subscribing a contact to a double opt-in list sends a confirmation email; tags can also start automations.

## Known gaps

- Campaigns can't be created, edited, sent or scheduled. Campaign stats are totals per campaign; there is no per-day breakdown or per-contact open and click history.
- Click counts per link in a campaign aren't returned; `get_campaign` lists the tracked links only.
- No deletes: contacts, deals, lists, tags and automations can't be deleted.
- Automations can be listed and contacts added to them, but not built, edited, started or stopped.
- No site tracking, event tracking, ecommerce (Deep Data) orders, forms or SMS.
- Deal tasks and custom deal fields aren't exposed; deal notes are.

## All tools

| Tool | Kind | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `get_account_info` | Read | Show which ActiveCampaign account and user the connected API key belongs to, and the account's users. |
| `list_contacts` | Read | List ActiveCampaign contacts, filtered by email, name or phone search, list, tag, status or date. |
| `get_contact` | Read | Get one contact with its list memberships, tags, custom field values, deals and automations. |
| `list_contact_fields` | Read | List the account's custom contact fields with their ids, types and personalization tags. |
| `list_tags` | Read | List contact tags with their ids and how many contacts carry each, optionally filtered by name. |
| `list_lists` | Read | List the account's mailing lists with their ids. |
| `list_campaigns` | Read | List email campaigns, newest send first, with sends, opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes and their rates. |
| `get_campaign` | Read | Get one email campaign's stats and its tracked links. |
| `list_automations` | Read | List automations with their status and how many contacts entered and exited each. |
| `list_pipelines` | Read | List deal pipelines with their stages, so deals can be filtered, created and moved by stage id. |
| `list_deals` | Read | List CRM deals, newest first, filtered by search text, pipeline, stage, status (open, won, lost) or owner. |
| `get_deal` | Read | Get one deal with its notes. |
| `list_accounts` | Read | List CRM accounts (companies) with their contact and deal counts, optionally filtered by name. |
| `sync_contact` | Write | Create a contact, or update the one with this email address. |
| `add_contact_to_list` | Write | Subscribe a contact to a list. |
| `unsubscribe_contact_from_list` | Destructive | Unsubscribe a contact from a list, so they stop receiving that list's campaigns. |
| `add_tag_to_contact` | Write | Tag a contact, by tag id or exact tag name; a name that doesn't exist yet becomes a new tag. |
| `remove_tag_from_contact` | Destructive | Remove a tag from a contact, by tag id or exact tag name. |
| `add_contact_to_automation` | Write | Add a contact to an automation, which then runs its steps for them (often sending email). |
| `create_deal` | Write | Create a CRM deal for a contact in a pipeline stage. |
| `update_deal` | Write | Update a deal: move it to another stage, mark it open, won or lost, or change its value, title or owner. |
| `add_deal_note` | Write | Add a note to a deal, visible to everyone in the ActiveCampaign account. |

Exact input schemas come from `tools/list` once ActiveCampaign is connected; the free plan is enough to check.

Missing something? Your agent can ask for it with `request_feature`.
