# Discord tools in Cogny

Cogny's Discord integration exposes 8 tools (7 read, 1 write) to an AI agent over MCP. The same tools are available on every plan, from your own AI client or inside the Cogny app.

- **Read** (7): only reads data.
- **Write** (1): creates or changes something.
- **Destructive** (0): deletes, removes or replaces something.

Over MCP your own AI client asks before it runs a write. To take a tool away from your agent, block it in Settings → Integrations.

## All tools

| Tool | Kind | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `get_current_user` | Read | Get the bot's own user object (sanity check the token). |
| `list_guilds` | Read | List guilds (servers) the bot is a member of. |
| `get_guild` | Read | Get a guild. |
| `list_guild_channels` | Read | List all channels in a guild. |
| `get_channel` | Read | Get a single channel by ID. |
| `list_guild_members` | Read | List guild members. |
| `get_channel_messages` | Read | Read a channel's message history. |
| `send_message` | Write | Send a message to a channel. |

Exact input schemas come from `tools/list` once Discord is connected; the free plan is enough to check.

Missing something? Your agent can ask for it with `request_feature`.
