New Plans: Cogny AI ($18) and Cogny Pro ($90) — Plus a 5x Bigger Free Gift

We just reshaped the Cogny pricing ladder. Three changes ship today:

    1. Two new plans between Solo and Cloud: Cogny AI at $18/mo with 150 included credits per month, and Cogny Pro at $90/mo with 1,500 included credits per month.
    2. The free signup gift grows from 10 to 50 chat credits.
    3. Cloud grows from 2,000 to 5,000 included monthly credits at the same $499/mo.

Here's the full ladder, and the usage data that shaped every number.

    The new ladder

    PlanPriceMonthly creditsMCP tool calls
    Free$050 one-time gift15 / month, resets
    Solo$9/moUnmetered (fair use)
    Cogny AI$18/mo150Unmetered (fair use)
    Cogny Pro$90/mo1,500Unmetered (fair use)
    Cloud$499/mo5,000Metered from the pool

Credits fund what Cogny pays an inference provider for: the in-app chat agent, report runs, and image generation. On the whole Solo family (Solo, Cogny AI, Cogny Pro), MCP tool calls from your own agent stay unmetered under fair use — your Claude or ChatGPT already pays for its own inference, so we don't charge you twice for it.

Why 50 free credits — the one-loop rule

We measured what it actually costs a new user to complete one full loop: ask a real question, let the agent work, and ship a real result — a live ad, a published page, a submitted sitemap. The median first loop consumes about 31 credits under current metering. The old gift was 10.

That mismatch showed up brutally in the conversion data. New workspaces that ran out of credits after shipping something converted to paid at 25%. Workspaces stranded mid-task — some credits spent, nothing shipped — converted at 0.4%. The old gift was big enough to start a job and too small to finish one.

So the gift is now sized to the loop: 50 credits lets one real task run to completion, and then you hit the wall — at the exact moment you've seen what the product does.

    Why the new tiers exist

Solo is deliberately minimal: $9 buys unmetered MCP and the dashboard, and the in-app agent runs on pay-as-you-go top-ups. That's perfect for people who live in their own AI client. But a growing group of Solo users run the in-app agent every week — our 75th-percentile Solo workspace burns ~140 credits a month, and the 95th percentile clears 800.

Cogny AI (150/mo) covers that p75 user. Cogny Pro (1,500/mo) covers the p95 user. And the ladder is now shaped correctly: each rung is cheaper per credit than the one below it, and every rung beats pay-as-you-go top-ups ($0.10/credit). Top-ups still exist — they roll over forever and stack on top of any plan — but a subscription is now always the better deal for steady usage.

    Why Cloud got 5,000

Cloud is the team harness: parallel channels, scheduled jobs, daily briefs, shared workspace, organisational memory. Its credit pool exists so a team never thinks about credits — and at 2,000 next to Pro's 1,500, the credits column undersold what the $499 actually buys. It's now 5,000: more than three times Pro, on top of everything the harness does.

Existing Cloud workspaces get the new allowance automatically at their next renewal. Nothing else changes: same price, same features, top-ups still roll over.

    Moving between plans

Upgrades anywhere up the ladder (Solo → Cogny AI → Cogny Pro → Cloud) take effect immediately with prorated billing — from Settings → Subscription, or the pricing page. Downgrades take effect at the end of the period you already paid for. The free tier stays what it always was: the trial that doesn't expire.
