Faire Is Live in Cogny: Wholesale Orders, Inventory & Prices for Your Agent
If you run a brand on Faire — the wholesale marketplace — your wholesale orders, catalog and stock have lived in a browser tab your growth agent could never open. Until today. Faire is a live MCP integration, and unlike the read-only e-commerce connectors in the catalog, this one can act on the marketplace.
No OAuth redirect or app registration: one brand access token you generate yourself in the Faire Brand Portal, pasted once into Settings → Cogny Managed MCPs.
TL;DR
- Faire is live now. Connect it with a brand access token from your warehouse Settings → Cogny Managed MCPs.
- 18 tools. Read wholesale orders, products, product reviews, product types, inventory (by SKU or variant), prepacks and retailer profiles. Write on-hand and available inventory per SKU, wholesale and retail prices per SKU, product fields, and order actions — accept into processing, add shipments, and cancel.
- Writes are opt-in and ask-first. Orders, products, reviews, types, inventory, prepacks and retailers are read-only. Every write stays behind Cogny's standard approval gate until you allow them in Settings. There is no product or variant deletion exposed.
- Order acceptance, cancellations and shipments notify the retailer — they're real marketplace actions, so they're treated as the real changes they are.
- The
ecommercescheduled template (E-Commerce Performance Signals) now recognizes Faire alongside Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Abicart, Litium and ShipStation. - Works from any MCP client on
app.cogny.com/mcp, and from Bash via the Cogny CLI. - Included in Cogny Solo ($9/mo); bring your own agent and the standard MCP tools run under fair use.
What you can do with it
| Area | What Claude can do |
|---|---|
| Orders | List and read wholesale orders with cursor pagination; accept an order into processing, add shipments with carrier and tracking, or cancel with a reason |
| Products | List and read products, product types, and product reviews for your brand |
| Inventory | Read on-hand and available inventory by SKU or by product variant id; update on-hand and available inventory per SKU — no inventory export needed |
| Prices | Read and set wholesale and retail prices per SKU |
| Prepacks & retailers | List prepacks and read retailer profiles |
| Product edits | Update product fields |
In plain terms: "Which of this week's wholesale orders are still unfulfilled?" "Sync on-hand stock from my warehouse into my top 10 best-sellers on Faire." "What's the current wholesale price on these SKUs, and what did they retail for last season?" The answers — and the actionable writes — happen against faire.com's External API v2, not a spreadsheet re-keyed from the portal.
One honest caveat baked into the connector: reviews, retailer profiles and some write operations can be limited for a brand token. Read access is centered on your own brand's orders and catalog, which is where the operational value is.
Writes are ask-first, and the retailer is in the loop
Faire reads are genuinely read-only here. The writes — inventory, prices, product edits, and the three order actions — stay ask-first until you allow them in Settings, the same guardrail as every other Cogny write.
Two of those order actions deserve heightening: accept_order, add_order_shipments and cancel_order don't just change your backend — they notify the retailer on Faire. Accepting an order or adding a shipment tells the buyer their order is on its way; cancelling tells them it isn't. They are marketplace actions with the customer on the other end, not silent internal edits, so an agent doesn't take them without an explicit yes.
Two ways in: chat or scheduled
Ask interactively from any MCP client, or enable the ecommerce template (E-Commerce Performance Signals) as a scheduled prompt — it now recognizes Faire alongside the other connected store platforms and maps its phases onto the Faire tools automatically.
Prefer the terminal? The Faire CLI page shows every tool as a npx @cogny/cli tools call one-liner an agent can script.
How to connect it
- In your Faire Brand Portal, open Settings → API access token and generate a token.
- If you don't see an API token option, ask Faire support to enable External API access for your brand — it's the single-brand token path of Faire's External API v2.
- In your warehouse Settings → Cogny Managed MCPs, click Connect on the Faire card and paste the token.
The token is stored encrypted, sent only as the X-FAIRE-ACCESS-TOKEN header to Faire's External API, and scoped to the single workspace. Disconnect any time with one click, and revoke the token back in your Brand Portal if you ever stop using Cogny.
On trust
Every tool carries MCP behavior annotations, so Cogny's UI and Claude.ai connectors know which ones read, which write, and which touch a destructive path. Order, product, review, inventory, prepack and retailer reads are read-only; inventory, price and product writes are idempotent where repeating them is safe; cancel_order is flagged destructive, and the order-accept and shipment writes that notify the retailer are gated behind your explicit approval.
If you sell wholesale on Faire — or you manage a brand portfolio that does — this is the connector that puts your orders, catalog and stock one prompt away. Connect it from your Cogny dashboard and ask your first question.
