HubSpot Email & CRM Is Live in Cogny: Marketing Email Results, Leads and Custom Objects for Your Agent

Cogny has connected to HubSpot through HubSpot's own MCP server for a while. That connection reads contacts, companies and deals well, but it can't see how your marketing emails performed, who opened or clicked them, your leads or your custom objects, and it can't change anything. HubSpot Email & CRM is a second HubSpot connection that covers those, using one HubSpot service key.

    TL;DR

    • Live now on every paid Cogny plan (Solo $9/mo and up). Connect it from Settings → Integrations → HubSpot Email & CRM.
    • 15 tools: 11 read, 4 write, none destructive.
    • Marketing email: every email's sent, delivered, open, click, bounce and unsubscribe counts and rates; totals for any date window or a trend by day, week or month; and the event log behind them (sends, deliveries, opens, clicks, bounces, spam reports, unsubscribes per recipient).
    • CRM: search and read contacts, companies, deals, tickets, leads, custom objects and activities (notes, calls, emails, meetings, tasks), with owners, pipelines and every property definition.
    • Writes: create or update a contact, move a deal to another stage, log a note. No email is sent or edited and nothing is deleted.
    • The full tool list, scopes and known gaps: cogny.com/integrations/hubspot-crm/tools.

    What you can ask

    AreaWhat your agent can do
Email performanceList marketing emails with their counters and open/click ratios; total a date window across all emails or a chosen few; chart opens and clicks by week
Email eventsRead who received, opened, clicked or bounced an email, with link, device and country; count spam reports and unsubscribes for a send
Contacts, companies, deals, tickets, leadsFilter on any property (dates, stages, lifecycle, source, owner), free-text search, sort, and read one record with its associated records
ActivitiesFind the calls, meetings, notes, emails and tasks logged on a contact, company or deal
Custom objectsList your custom objects and their properties, then search their records like any other object
StructurePipelines with stage names and probabilities, owners with teams, property definitions with picklist values
WritesCreate a contact, update contact properties, move a deal to a stage, log a note on contacts, companies, deals or tickets

In plain terms: "Which newsletters this quarter had the highest click rate, and how many of the clickers became deals?" "Our October send bounced more than usual. Which domains bounced?" "List every lead created this month with no owner." "Move the Acme deal to Closed won and log a note with what we agreed."

One key, the scopes you choose

A HubSpot service key carries exactly the scopes you add when you create it, and Cogny asks for nothing else. Each tool needs only its own scope. Leave out tickets or custom objects and those tools say which scope is missing; everything else keeps working.

Writes follow the same rule. Without crm.objects.contacts.write and crm.objects.deals.write the connection is read-only. With them, each write still runs behind Cogny's approval setting: writes are ask-first until you allow them in Settings, and you can block any single tool there. Every change your agent makes is recorded on a ticket, like any other Cogny write.

How it fits with the other HubSpot connections

    • HubSpot: HubSpot's own MCP server, for reading CRM records.
    • HubSpot Forms: forms and form submissions.
    • HubSpot Email & CRM: email performance and events, leads, custom objects, and the writes.

You can run all three. If your service key also has the forms scope, the same key works for HubSpot Forms.

    How to connect it

    1. In HubSpot, click Development in the left sidebar, then Keys → Service keys. You need Super Admin or Developer Tools access.
    2. Click Create service key, name it "Cogny", and add the read scopes you want: crm.objects.contacts.read, crm.objects.companies.read, crm.objects.deals.read, tickets, crm.objects.leads.read, crm.objects.owners.read, crm.objects.custom.read, crm.schemas.custom.read, the crm.schemas.<object>.read scopes, marketing.email.read and content. Add crm.objects.contacts.write and crm.objects.deals.write if you want the write tools.
    3. In Cogny, open Settings → Integrations, click Connect on the HubSpot Email & CRM card and paste the key.

The key is stored encrypted and scoped to your workspace. Disconnecting deletes it from Cogny; you can also revoke it in HubSpot at any time.

    Limits worth knowing

    • HubSpot allows 100 API requests per 10 seconds on Free and Starter accounts and 190 on Professional and Enterprise, plus a daily cap. Search is limited to 5 requests per second, and one search stops at 10,000 results, so narrow by date for large accounts.
    • Custom objects are a HubSpot Enterprise feature.
    • Long text (note, call and email bodies) is cut at 2,000 characters in answers.

Use it in a scheduled loop

The Email Marketing template now reads HubSpot marketing email, and the CRM templates (B2B Sales Pipeline, Buying Intent Signals, Closed-Won Attribution, Billing ↔ CRM Reconciliation and others) recognize HubSpot Email & CRM alongside HubSpot, Pipedrive, Upsales and Attio.

Connect it from your Cogny dashboard and ask which of your emails actually moved pipeline.
