Rule MCP for your AI agent
Cogny's Rule integration exposes 35 tools (18 read, 10 write, 7 destructive) to an AI agent over MCP. The same tools are available on every plan, from your own AI client or inside the Cogny app.
- 18readonly reads data.
- 10writecreates or changes something.
- 7destructivedeletes, removes or replaces something.
Over MCP your own AI client asks before it runs a write. To take a tool away from your agent, block it in Settings → Integrations. Plans, approvals and limits
set it up.
Add Cogny to your AI client once, then connect Rule in Cogny. Every Rule tool below appears in the client.
- Claude CodeRun
claude mcp add --transport http cogny https://app.cogny.com/mcp, then authorise in the browser. - Claude.aiSettings → Connectors → Add custom connector, URL
https://app.cogny.com/mcp, then log in and pick your workspace. - ChatGPTSettings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode → Create app, URL
https://app.cogny.com/mcp, authentication OAuth. - CursorIn Cogny, Settings → Data & Integrations → Connect AI Clients shows the block to paste into
.mcp.json, with an API key. - CodexRun
codex mcp add cogny --url https://app.cogny.com/mcp.
Rule (app.rule.io) connects with an API key from Rule → Settings → API. Every list tool pages with limit (max 100) and page; an answer's meta.next_page / meta.previous_page give the page numbers for the next call.
Known gaps
- No subscribers-by-tag filter. Rule's API has no endpoint that lists the subscribers of one tag and
list_subscribershas no tag parameter.get_tagwithwith_count=truereturnsrecipient_count, the size of the tag, without paging through every subscriber;list_subscriber_tagsanswers the question the other way round, for one subscriber. - Segments are what Rule's
GET /segmentsreturns. The tool passes the list through unchanged; if a campaign refers to segments the list does not contain, the difference is in Rule's API, not in the tool. - Rule's pagination links carry the account's API key. The tool removes it before anything is returned; use the page numbers instead of the links.
