Funnel MCP vs Cogny: the same agent workflow for $9 instead of $300

Funnel now has an MCP server. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or Claude Code and you can ask about the marketing data you keep in Funnel in plain language. That is a good thing for anyone who already runs on Funnel.

If you don't, the question is what it costs to get there, and what the AI can do once it's connected. This post compares the two from Funnel's own pages, checked on 5 November 2026. The full side-by-side is at cogny.com/cogny-vs-funnel.

    TL;DR

    • Funnel MCP needs a Funnel plan. Starter starts from $300 a month, billed annually: $3,600 for the first year. Business starts from $600 a month, billed annually. There is a 14-day free trial with no card.
    • Cogny Solo is $9 a month, month to month. MCP calls from your own AI are unmetered under fair use, on every connected integration. Cogny Free is $0 with 15 MCP calls a month. A year of Solo is $108.
    • What the AI can change differs. Funnel's write tools change your Funnel account: custom fields, exports, data sources, client portals. Cogny's tools change the platforms themselves: budgets, bids, keywords, ads, posts, pages, tags. Every change is recorded on a ticket and measured a few days later.
    • Funnel's strength is the data hub. Modeled cross-channel data with history, 117 connectors on Starter and 579 on Business, MMM and attribution for Funnel Measure customers, and SOC 2 and ISO 27001. If you need those, Funnel is the better pick.

    What Funnel MCP does

Funnel collects data from your marketing sources, models it into one cross-channel set and stores it. Funnel MCP connects that set to AI tools. Funnel describes it as querying your data: "Ask questions, build workflows and get answers without switching context." Budgets, targets, custom metric definitions and naming conventions come through the same connection, and Funnel Measure customers can reach their MMM, attribution and incrementality results there.

Funnel's quick-start guide says the MCP is available on all plans, and lists read tools plus write tools that "change your Funnel account, for example by creating a custom field, an export or a data source". Each write runs after you approve it in the conversation. Its pages don't describe changing campaigns, bids or budgets inside Google Ads, Meta or another ad platform.

    What Cogny does

Cogny is one MCP endpoint, https://app.cogny.com/mcp, in front of the tools in your stack. Your AI reads them live, through each platform's own API, and calls write tools to change them. Clients such as Claude and ChatGPT ask before each write, and every write is logged with who authorised it.

Each change made through Cogny (a budget, a bid, a paused keyword, a published post or tag) becomes a ticket on its own. A few days later Cogny reads the result against your KPIs and closes it as worked, didn't work, hurt or inconclusive. Free and Solo measure three tickets a month; Cogny AI ($18) and up measure every one.

    Price, side by side

    PlanPer monthFirst yearBilling
Cogny Free$0$0No card; 15 MCP calls a month
    Cogny Solo$9$108Month to month
    Funnel Starterfrom $300from $3,600Billed annually
    Funnel Businessfrom $600from $7,200Billed annually

To be fair to Funnel, Starter buys a data hub, destinations and stored history, which Solo doesn't include. The Cogny plan with a warehouse and scheduled reports is Cloud, at $499 a month. If what you want is your AI working on your ad and analytics accounts, Solo does that for $9.

Sources: how the numbers are counted

Funnel's Starter plan lists 117 connectors; Cogny has 73 integrations as of today. The two lists aren't counted the same way. Funnel lists HubSpot as ten entries, one per object (contacts, deals, companies, tickets and so on), and Pipedrive, Zoho CRM and ActiveCampaign as three each. 41 of the 117 are price-comparison and marketplace sites such as Prisjakt, Idealo and Kelkoo. Cogny counts one per integration.

As of publishing, Cogny connects 28 of the 117 Starter entries, through 25 integrations: Google Ads (including Keyword Planner), GA4, Search Console, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and Organic, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok Ads, Snapchat Ads, Reddit Ads, X Ads and Organic, OpenAI Ads, Apple Search Ads, YouTube, Shopify, WooCommerce, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Pipedrive, Matomo, Mixpanel, Piwik PRO, Ahrefs and Semrush. Pinterest Ads is built, with new connections opening once Pinterest approves Cogny's app. The comparison page builds this table from Cogny's live tool list, so it is current when you read it.

Cogny also has 45 integrations that aren't on Funnel's Starter list, 23 of them with tools that make changes: Google Tag Manager, Webflow, WordPress, Ghost, Sanity, Framer, Bing Webmaster Tools, Brevo, Rule, Drip, MailerLite, Constant Contact, Attio and image and video generation among them, plus read-only ones such as Fortnox, PostHog and Segment. Any other remote MCP server, Stripe's for example, can be added by URL.

Funnel covers sources Cogny doesn't: Amazon Ads, HubSpot's CRM objects, Yandex, Quora, Nextdoor and the price-comparison sites among them, and its Business plan lists 579 connectors.

    Which to pick

Pick Funnel if you need modeled history that many people and dashboards read the same way, sources Cogny doesn't connect, MMM and incrementality from Funnel Measure, or SOC 2 and ISO 27001 from the vendor. If you already pay for Funnel, its MCP comes with the plan.

Pick Cogny if you want your AI to make the change, not only read about it; you'd rather pay $9 a month than commit to $3,600 a year; and you want every change measured and closed with a verdict.

Use both if you want Funnel's reporting and an AI that acts on the same accounts. They don't need to be connected to each other.

    Try it

Cogny Free needs no card. Add the endpoint to your AI client, connect one ad account and ask your first question:
