Magento Is Live in Cogny: Orders, Sales, Catalog and Stock for Your Agent

Magento 2 and Adobe Commerce run a large share of mid-size and enterprise stores, especially in Europe. Until now an agent working on one of them had to go through exports. Magento is now a live MCP integration in Cogny. Your agent reads the store directly, and with your approval it can change prices and stock.

You connect it with two things: your store address and the access token of an integration you create in the Magento admin. There's no OAuth redirect and no app to install from a marketplace.

    TL;DR

    • Magento 2.3+ and Adobe Commerce are live now. Connect them in Settings → Integrations.
    • 20 tools: 17 reads, 3 writes. Orders, sales totals, best sellers, refunds, products, prices, stock (multi-source inventory included), low-stock lists, categories, customers, cart price rules, coupons and store settings, plus a read-only tool for any other REST endpoint.
    • Totals are computed for you. get_sales_summary returns orders, revenue, discounts, shipping, tax, refunds, net revenue and average order value per day, week or month, in the store's own timezone and base currency.
    • Three writes, all ask-first: regular prices, scheduled sale prices and stock quantities. Nothing is invoiced, shipped, cancelled, refunded or deleted.
    • Your Magento permissions decide the scope. The integration's Resource Access sets what Cogny can see and change.
    • The E-Commerce Performance Signals template now works with Magento alongside Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Abicart, Litium, ShipStation and Faire.
    • Included in Cogny Solo ($9/mo). Bring your own agent and the standard MCP tools run under fair use.

What you can do with it

    AreaWhat your agent can do
SalesOrders, revenue, discounts, shipping, tax, refunds, net revenue and AOV per day/week/month; status mix; guest vs registered; orders with a coupon
Orders & refundsList and read orders with line items, addresses and status history; list credit memos
MerchandisingBest sellers by revenue or units over any period, counted once per configurable or bundle product
CatalogProducts by name, SKU pattern, type, status or last update; full product detail per store view; the category tree
PricesBase prices and scheduled sale prices for up to 100 SKUs; update base prices and schedule sale prices (with approval)
StockStock per SKU, per-source quantities on multi-source stores, everything below a threshold; set quantities (with approval)
Customers & promotionsRegistered customers with group and city; cart price rules; coupon codes with usage and expiry

Questions it answers directly: "How did revenue and AOV move week by week this quarter, and how much went to discounts?" "Which of my top 20 sellers are under 10 units in stock?" "Put these five SKUs on sale at 20% off from Friday through Monday."

    Writes are ask-first

Every read tool is read-only. The three writes (update_product_prices, set_special_prices and update_stock) stay behind Cogny's approval step until you allow them in Settings, like every other Cogny write. A price change goes live on your storefront as soon as Magento saves it, so your agent shows you the exact SKUs and amounts before it asks.

If you want a read-only connection, leave product and inventory write access out of the integration's Resource Access in Magento. The write tools then fail with Magento's own permission error.

    How to connect it

    1. In the Magento admin, open System → Extensions → Integrations → Add New Integration. Name it "Cogny".
    2. Under API → Resource Access, choose Custom and tick Sales, Catalog, Customers, Marketing → Cart Price Rules and Stores → Settings → Stores.
    3. Save, then click Activate → Allow, and copy the Access Token.
    4. On Magento 2.4.4 or later, set Stores → Configuration → Services → OAuth → Consumer Settings → "Allow OAuth Access Tokens to be used as standalone Bearer tokens" to Yes. Without it, Magento refuses every call.
    5. In Cogny, open Settings → Integrations, click Connect on the Magento card, and paste your store address and the token.

The token is stored encrypted and only sent to your own store. If your store or its firewall only accepts known addresses, the connect dialog shows the one address Cogny connects from. You can disconnect at any time, and you can revoke the integration in the Magento admin whenever you like.

    What it doesn't do (yet)

    • Catalog price rules aren't available. Magento's REST API has no endpoint for them, but cart price rules and coupons are covered.
    • No order handling. Cogny doesn't invoice, ship, cancel or refund orders.
    • No storefront traffic. Sessions, carts and conversion rate aren't in Magento's API. Connect GA4 next to it.

The full tool list is on the Magento tools page.

If you run a Magento or Adobe Commerce store, connect it from your Cogny dashboard and start by asking how last month's sales compare with the month before.
