The New Cogny App: Calmer, Readable, and Built Around the Verdict

The Cogny app has been redesigned. Same features, same plans, a different way of reading them. Every change you make through Cogny ends in a verdict, and the app is now built so that the verdict is the first thing you see.

This post is also in Swedish.

It's live for every workspace, Free included. Nothing to switch on.

A calmer look, in light and dark

The app is now quieter: paper-coloured backgrounds, ink-coloured text, thin rules instead of heavy boxes, and a few soft tints to tell things apart. There is one orange, and it means one thing: a miss, an error or something destructive. When you see orange, look.

The app follows your operating system's light or dark setting. To force one, open the avatar menu in the top right and pick Appearance: Match system, Light or Dark. The choice is saved on that device.

    Text you can read

Every piece of text a person needs to read now meets the WCAG contrast level of 4.5:1 or more, in both themes, and nothing you're expected to read is smaller than 12 px. Grey-on-grey captions are gone. "Muted" is no longer a reason to make a label hard to read.

    Three marks, one meaning

Verdicts have their own marks, and those marks are used for nothing else:

    • ● worked
    • ◐ partly worked
    • ○ didn't work

A ticket still being measured, waiting for data or with no check scheduled says so in words. Lists, steps and loaders use numbers, bars or tiles, so a circle in the app always means a verdict.

    The start page

Home opens on your numbers and what happened to them.

    • What moved. Your KPIs over the last 30 days against the 30 before, with the one that moved most called out. If nothing moved more than 1%, it says that.
    • Shipped in the last 30 days. How many changes shipped, how many have a verdict and how they split between worked, partly worked and didn't work, plus how many are still being measured. The best measured result gets its own line.
    • Cogny suggests next. One concrete next step, with the button to act on it: make it a ticket, review the tickets waiting for you, or open a chat on a graph that slipped.
    • Latest verdicts and next steps. Up to four recent verdicts, each with its figure (the money result, or the change in the metric it targeted), and up to four next steps.
    • Learnings. What your finished tickets taught you, as one-line conclusions. The full note is one click away.

The ticket board and the verdict reveal

The Tickets board keeps its columns and gets a few small moments that tell you something happened:

    • The verdict reveal. The first time you see a verdict, its mark draws itself: the ring, then the fill. After that it's still.
    • A real win, once. A measured win of $100 or more gets a soft glow and one line, such as "That one paid off", the first time you see it. Smaller wins still say Worked with their figure; they just aren't celebrated.
    • Approve, and watch it move. When you approve a ticket from its card, the card glides to its new column instead of jumping. Switching between board and list cross-fades.
    • The verdict on top. An open ticket starts with its verdict and the numbers behind it. A ticket nothing is checking says so and offers Check now, which runs the analysis (it uses credits).

If your system asks for reduced motion, all of this is static.

    A faster workspace switcher

Agencies run one Cogny workspace per client, so getting between them should take a keystroke.

    • ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) opens the switcher from anywhere in a workspace.
    • Pinned workspaces sit at the top. Star the clients you open every day.
    • Recent lists the last five you opened, with when you were last there.
    • Search covers every workspace you belong to, with pinned and recent matches first.
    • A colour and a letter per workspace, so clients are recognisable at a glance. The colour stays the same if you rename one.
    • With more than 12 workspaces, the full list folds away under Pinned and Recent, so the switcher opens on the clients you actually work in.

The current workspace's plan is shown next to its name in the header. On a phone, the switcher opens full screen.

    Horizon, in the voice dock

The round voice button in the corner has a companion now. Horizon is the "o" of the Cogny wordmark, sitting on a thin line like a sun on the horizon, and it shows what the voice agent is doing:

    • Ready: a slow breath and the odd blink. On a desktop, its eyes follow your pointer when it's close.
    • Connecting when you start a call.
    • Listening while you talk.
    • Working on an answer after you've asked something.
    • Speaking while the agent answers.
    • Done: a short, happy moment when the agent finishes an action for you or a measured win shows up on screen, at most once a minute and never while you're talking.
    • Couldn't start if the call fails, with the reason.
    • Resting after ten minutes with nothing going on.

Sharing your screen in a meeting? Switch on Calm character in the avatar menu. Horizon keeps showing the call's state but stays still while idle and never celebrates. It's on automatically when your system asks for reduced motion.

    On every plan

The redesign is the same app for everyone: Free, Solo, Cogny AI, Cogny Pro and Cloud. Features that are part of Cloud still show on the other plans, marked as such. Compare plans.
