ActiveCampaign MCP for your AI agent

Cogny's ActiveCampaign integration exposes 22 tools (13 read, 7 write, 2 destructive) to an AI agent over MCP. The same tools are available on every plan, from your own AI client or inside the Cogny app.

    • 13readonly reads data.
    • 7writecreates or changes something.
    • 2destructivedeletes, removes or replaces something.

Over MCP your own AI client asks before it runs a write. To take a tool away from your agent, block it in Settings → Integrations. Plans, approvals and limits

    set it up.

Add Cogny to your AI client once, then connect ActiveCampaign in Cogny. Every ActiveCampaign tool below appears in the client.

    • Claude CodeRun claude mcp add --transport http cogny https://app.cogny.com/mcp, then authorise in the browser.
    • Claude.aiSettings → Connectors → Add custom connector, URL https://app.cogny.com/mcp, then log in and pick your workspace.
    • ChatGPTSettings → Apps → Advanced settings → Developer mode → Create app, URL https://app.cogny.com/mcp, authentication OAuth.
    • CursorIn Cogny, Settings → Data & Integrations → Connect AI Clients shows the block to paste into .mcp.json, with an API key.
    • CodexRun codex mcp add cogny --url https://app.cogny.com/mcp.

    Notes

ActiveCampaign connects with two values from ActiveCampaign → Settings → Developer: the API URL (it looks like https://youraccount.api-us1.com) and the API key. There are no scopes: the key has the permissions of the ActiveCampaign user it belongs to, so connect it as a user who can see the contacts, campaigns, automations and deals Cogny should work with.

Campaign stats come from ActiveCampaign's own counters: sent, opens, unique opens, link clicks, unique link clicks, forwards, hard and soft bounces, unsubscribes and replies. Rates are computed from them (open rate = unique opens / sent, click rate = unique link clicks / sent, click-to-open = unique clicks / unique opens).

Deal values are read and written in the deal's own currency; amounts in different currencies are never converted or added together.

ActiveCampaign allows 5 API requests per second per account. Lists return at most 100 items per call and page with offset.

Writes stay ask-first until you allow them in Settings. Adding a contact to an automation runs that automation for them, and subscribing a contact to a double opt-in list sends a confirmation email; tags can also start automations.

    Known gaps

    • Campaigns can't be created, edited, sent or scheduled. Campaign stats are totals per campaign; there is no per-day breakdown or per-contact open and click history.
    • Click counts per link in a campaign aren't returned; get_campaign lists the tracked links only.
    • No deletes: contacts, deals, lists, tags and automations can't be deleted.
    • Automations can be listed and contacts added to them, but not built, edited, started or stopped.
    • No site tracking, event tracking, ecommerce (Deep Data) orders, forms or SMS.
    • Deal tasks and custom deal fields aren't exposed; deal notes are.
